Robber attacking bitcoin brokers in Singapore faces corporal punishment
Two Bitcoin brokers in Singapore were robbed of $ 300,000 during a face-to-face meeting with a prospective buyer.The crime was committed on April 8, according to a Singapore police announcement released on Thursday. After the victims contacted the police, law enforcement officers managed to identify the suspects and detain them.
The detainees face a penalty of up to 5 to 20 years in prison and at least 12 blows with sticks. The authorities do not say whether they managed to recover the cash that became the prey of the attackers.
"The police will not tolerate someone committing such serious crimes and making money in this way," the message says..
This incident marks one of the first bitcoin-related heists in Singapore..
In February, a similar incident occurred in Moscow. There, under torture, a crypto-investor was forced to give away about 100 bitcoins.
